Today we are joined by Dr. David Juurlink head of the Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology division at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Ontario and we’re talking all things Tramadol.  Tramadol is a dual active opioid analgesic that has unique properties that make it complex. Historically it has not received the same oversight and monitoring as most conventional opioids despite its mechanism. Its use as a “safer alternative” to higher potency opioids has seen a steady rise in its use in Canada.
